2025 Men's Summer Basketball League

Plymouth Hoop Academy’s Men’s Summer League is an annual event with 8 teams. Games are played at the Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth (9 Resnik Rd) every Thursday from 6–9 PM, starting June 5, 2025.

Each team plays every other team once over a 7-week regular season. Playoffs are single elimination: week 8 quarterfinals, week 9 semifinals, and week 10 championship. Players must wear numbered jerseys for their stats to count.

 

Game rules:

  • 16-minute halves with a running clock

  • The last minute of the first half & the last 2 minutes of the second half are stopped clock

  • 3-minute halftime

  • 5 personal fouls per player

  • 7 team fouls = bonus; 10 team fouls = double bonus

  • Two 30-second timeouts and one full timeout per team per game

 

Overtime:

  • First OT is 2 minutes (stopped clock)

  • Second OT is 1 minute (stopped clock)

  • Third OT is sudden death

We keep track of field-goal attempts and makes, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, turnovers, and fouls. Team mix-tapes, individual highlights, and photos will be available throughout the season (pricing TBD).

Challenge:

  • Step 1: You must first call a timeout.

  • Step 2: Once the official confirms the timeout, inform them that you would like to challenge the play.

  • According to NBA Rules, the following calls can be challenged:

  • ✅ Fouls

  • ✅ Out of Bounds

  • ✅ Goal Tending / Basket Interference

  • The following cannot be challenged:

  • ⬛ Judgment Calls

  • ❌ Traveling

  • ❌ Double Dribble

  • Challenge Review Process:

  • Once the challenge is initiated, referees will go to half court to review the play.
     

  • After review, the officials will inform the scorekeeper and both teams of the decision.
     

  • If the challenge is successful, you will keep your timeout.
     

  • If the challenge is unsuccessful, you will lose your timeout.
     

  • Additional Game Conduct Rule:

  • ⚡ Once the basketball goes through the net, leave it alone.

  • Touching or interfering with the ball after it goes through the hoop may result in a delay of game warning the first time.
     

  • A second offense will result in a technical foul.
